About Daniel Edwins
Who is this kid?
Daniel Edwins is a senior Mathematics major at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He has lived in Northfield his whole life whether in dorms or at home. Although, technically he did live in Budapest for about four and one-half months.
Why Budapest, you may ask? Well, Daniel's pursuit in academic study has landed him in the magical world of mathematics—after all, he is a mathemagician. So he went on the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics program. In addition to Math, Daniel is also very passionate about Computer Science and Art. He hopes to combine this three threads into working on the visual representation of data. Researcher Ben Fry has created a process for doing this:
acquire. parse. filter. mine. represent. refine. interact.
Daniel only found out this field existed a few months ago yet has been thinking about related topics for a few years through his stereo vision research. Daniel has no plans for after college. His many passions make it difficult to focus in on a specific interest for a career.
In his free time, Daniel likes to hang out with friends, listen to music, read and travel.
